16 days after being appointed as Chief Minister in Karnali, Karnali Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel has barely added one minister. He was appointed as the Chief Minister on March 27.

Barely a minister in Karnali

Chief Minister Kandel on Wednesday appointed Ransingh Periyar of the Maoist Center as a non-departmental minister after a long tussle between the two major parties of the ruling coalition, the UML and the Maoist Center.

The Ministry of Social Development had a problem in cabinet expansion for a long time after both parties made it a matter of their reputation. But the meeting of both the parties held on Tuesday ended the division of the ministry. According to which, it has been agreed that the Maoists will take over the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning, Social Development, Industry, Tourism, Forestry and Environment and the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy Development.

The UML has got the ministries of physical infrastructure and urban development, internal affairs and planning and land, administration, agriculture and cooperatives along with the chief minister. On Wednesday, state chief Tilak Pariyar administered the oath of office and secrecy to the non-departmental minister Pariyar. He is an elected Member of Parliament from Humla 1 (A).

With the end of the division between the two parties, Chief Minister Kandel has started taking the vote of confidence from the Parliament on Thursday . For that, he has already registered a letter in the state assembly secretariat on Tuesday . A UML MP said that after the Chief Minister takes the vote of confidence, the Council of Ministers will be complete.

'He (the Chief Minister) was planning to administer the oath to 1/2 of the ministers when he took the oath, but he took the oath alone because of the Maoist stance,' he said, 'Initially the problem was the destruction of the ministry, now the number of aspirants to become ministers in both parties There has been a problem, but this matter will be solved within 1/2 days. Maoists have decided to send a new MP to the minister. There will be no problem as both parties have agreed,' he said, 'with the completion of the cabinet, the work of the government will also accelerate.' 6. But with only 3 months left to the end of the financial year, the government was able to spend only 8 billion 57 million rupees until the end of March, said Dipendra Magrati.

According to him, all the money spent was only spent on salaries, vehicles, and office management. "Funds for development plans have not been released," he said, "due to which less financial progress has been seen this year." The government has allocated nearly 16 billion rupees for development and construction this year.

Due to the delay in the formation of the government, the investment conference scheduled by the previous government on May 19 and 20 in the provincial capital Birendranagar has become confused. The Karnali Province Planning Commission had prepared various project concept papers for the investment conference and was coordinating with various development partners and non-resident Nepali associations.

But after the previous Chief Minister Sharma resigned as the Chief Minister on 21 March, the Provincial Planning Commission which was formed under his chairmanship was automatically disbanded and the investment conference has also become uncertain .
