Rautahat District Court has sentenced four people, including Congress leader Mohammad Aftaw Alam, to life imprisonment, who were involved in the incident at Rajpur in Rautahat.
The bench of District Court Rautahat Judge Matruka Prasad Acharya on Thursday gave the verdict of life imprisonment to four people including Alam.
Those sentenced to life imprisonment include Congress leader Alam, his brother Mohammad Mahtab Alam, Sheikh Saraj and Badri Sahni are .
Similarly, Mukti Sah, who was accused of the incident, has been acquitted.
On the eve of the first Constituent Assembly election, on the night of March 27, 2064, the incident of the bomb blast in the village of Fardawa in the present Rajpur municipality and then burning 23 people alive in a brick kiln to destroy the evidence, against 11 people, including leader Alam, his brother Mohammad Mahtab Alam and Sheikh Saraj, on October 18, 2076. On 29 October 076, the district court remanded Alam to jail for pre-trial detention. Since then, he has been remanded in custody in Nakkhu Jail.
