State chiefs should not run at the behest of the central government: Congress

The main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, has objected saying that the provincial chiefs are acting at the behest of the central government. Congress spokesperson Prakasharan Mahat objected that the state chiefs of Gandaki Province and Sudurpaschim Province are trying to act under the influence of the central government coalition, forgetting the rights given by the constitution.
Addressing a press conference at the Central Office in Sanepa on Friday, Spokesperson Mahat said, "The provincial chief has taken steps to violate the constitution regarding the formation of a government in the Far West." Once a signature has been invoked by a process and submitted, it cannot be revoked . But as a sign of power, he revoked the previous signature and claim, that is unconstitutional . We have strong objection to that.'
He also accused the government and the provincial chief of contempt of court by not following the order of the Supreme Court in Gandaki province . "The government has been formed through an unconstitutional method." This government is temporary. It has been ordered by the court not to do any long-term effects," said spokesperson Mahat. But in spite of that, the developments are happening, it is against the order of the court . That is not acceptable to us.'
He said that the provincial heads should not follow the instructions of the central government. "The heads of the provinces have dared to act according to the directives of the central government contrary to the constitution. This is incorrect . It is unconstitutional . "Congress strongly objects to these things," he said.
