Players of different age groups have taken the lead in the Moonlight Youth and Cadet National Chess Championship of the national level being held in Birganj.
Purushottam Silwal is in the lead till the sixth round in the age group between 16 and 18 years in the Hotel Classic competition. Adayanta Kafle is second and Anusha Gautam is third. There are 24 competitors in this age group. In the age group between 8 and 10 years, Jansu is leading. Hardik Pant is second and Sahash Shrestha is third. It has 10 players. Anupjang Shah is ahead in the sixth round of the
competition in the age group of 12 to 14 years. In the second position, Krishant Ghimire and Avin Pandey are in the third position.
Purnima Gurung is ahead in the sixth round on the female side. Isha Giri is in the second position and Srishti Sah is in the third position. 61 male and 14 female students participated in the competition. The winner of the
age group will participate in the 27th Asian Youth Chess Championship in Kazakhstan from June 9 to 21, Chief Arbiter Ramkishore Singh Parag said.
The main project of Nepal Intellectual Federation, Parsa District Intellectual Association and Moonlight Mavi and co-organized by National Infotech College, the competition will continue till Thursday.
