Armed police, Nepal police, forest staff and locals have been hit hard to control the fire that spread in the community forest of Bardia on Friday with the hot wind 'Lu'.

The fire has damaged Shahipur in Thakurbaba municipality and the surrounding community forest. After the forest fire, the surrounding villages tried to control the fire .

According to Drona Sharma, Assistant Officer and Information Officer of the Division Forest Office, small plants and herbs of the community forest have been destroyed by the fire. "The fire brigades of Madhuvan and Thakurbaba municipalities have brought under control more than 80 percent of the community forest including Shahipur," he said.

Thus the fire that broke out in Shivshakti community forest in Baghaiyatal village-7 of the district in the afternoon has not yet been brought under control. District Police Office Information Officer and DSP Tulsi Ram Aryal said that armed police, Nepal Police, two fire engines of Gulria and Bansgarhi municipalities, forest personnel and local residents were mobilized to control the fire.

According to him, the exact details of the damage to the forest have not come.
