The Armed Police Force has seized 272 kilograms of ganja from Omsatiya-4 in Rupandehi on Tuesday morning. According to Armed Police Force Nepal No. 27 Gana, the ganja was seized from near Danda Bridge in Bhairahawa when it was hidden in a Tata container number UP 78 BT 8297, which imported motorcycles and was about to be taken to India.
Gaza was recovered hidden inside the false bottom above the driver's seat of the container.
A team led by Armed Police Superintendent Anand Thapamargar said that on the basis of a special information from the Central Investigation Bureau of the Armed Police, a check post was set up on Hulaki Highway and the amount of marijuana was seized.
According to the information given by Gana, the driver of the container, Satnam Singh, who lives in Ludhiana District No. 10, Bhavdeep Singhanagar, Punjab, India, has been detained.
"It's a vehicle going to Ludhiana from Punjab," said Armed Police Superintendent Thapa, "The driver is also there." A Nepalese Ncell and Indian Airtel SIM were also seized from the driver.
According to the armed police, according to preliminary information, Chalak Singh said that he went to pick up the truck after getting information that the driver had left the truck stranded on the East-West Highway 10 km west of Narayangadh in Chitwan. Armed forces have completed the necessary legal process and will hand over the recovered marijuana, container and driver to the Nepal Police for further investigation.
