A statue of Nepal's first martyr Lakhan Thapa has been built in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1 Ramnagar. Mayor of Bharatpur Renu Dahal unveiled the painting in the program organized on Saturday. Shalik was built on the initiative of the Lakhan Park Management Committee.
The metropolis has contributed 11 lakh 49 thousand rupees for the three-and-a-half-feet-high shalik. Chairman of Lakhan Park Management Committee Nil Kumar Magar informed that Rs.
Lakhan Thapa, who was born in 1891 in Bunkot, Kahulen Bhangar, Gorkha, was martyred on February 2, 1933. The government officially declared him the country's first martyr on October 3, 2073.
President Nil Kumar Magar said that there is also a plan to build a large park in Ramnagar along with Shalik establishment. He said that the 21 bigha area of south Barandabhar forest, about 700 meters from Narayangadh Muglin road in Ramnagar, is going to be made a forest feast and park.
He says that there is also a plan to make a huge artificial lake in Ada because it is a forest area.
