A truck driver was killed in a collision with a pick-up at a coal store located in Dhankuta municipality 6 on Thursday afternoon. According to the police, the deceased is 30-year-old Niraj Thakuri, who hails from Lahan Golbazar in Sirah and currently resides in Dhankuta 9 Guthitar. Thakuri died on the spot.
On the Koshi highway, the pick truck No. 01-026 Ch 8992 coming from Sidhuwa to Dhankuta suddenly failed and stopped on the side of the road and hit the truck No. 01-006 Ch 4652 which was loading gas.
The truck driver who was loading gas fell to the ground when he was hit by a pickup truck. The pick-up driver Chet Bahadur Visunkhe, 38 years old of Siddalekh rural municipality-3 of Dhading, has been detained by the district police office.
