In 7 months, 11 tourists died in the Mustang

According to District Police Office Mustang, October of the current fiscal year From the 11th By the end of March, 11 people who came to visit Mustang have died due to the lake. The dead include 7 Indians, three Nepali pilgrims and one Ukrainian tourist.

In the month of March only 6 pilgrims/tourists died when their Mustang hit a lake. According to records, 12 people who came to visit Mustang and visit Muktinath last year were killed by the lake.

Similarly, according to the police records, 12 pilgrims/tourists from different countries who came to visit Mustang in the year 079/80 died in the lake. In the year 078/079, the number of people who lost their lives due to the lake was 6. In the last three years, 29 Indians, 7 Nepalese, 1 Thai and 1 Ukrainian who came to Mustang have lost their lives. Most of the dead are over 60 years old.

According to Ahev Subas Adhikari, Head of Breathing Chowki located in Waragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality, 1 Jharkaot, when a car suddenly reaches a height of more than 3 thousand meters from a low area, there are problems with breathing and health and death. In the last 9 months of the current year, 11 people have died due to the lake.

Ranipauwa is a bus park area under Muktinath. At Ranipauwa, pilgrims have to get off the car and climb Muktinath temple on foot.

Tourists who come to visit Mustang or for pilgrimage spend a night in Jomsom or Kagbeni to mingle with the weather and climb Muktinath on the next day. Bhojraj Pandey, District Police Chief, said that there is a problem of leakage due to the fact that it is taken directly from Pokhara or below to Muktinath Gadi.
