7 houses were destroyed in Karunia, Dewahi Gonahi Municipality 1 of Rautahat on Tuesday due to a power failure. The house of local Nazarul Ansari, Sabir Hussain, Ansarul Ansari, Majid Ansari, Eid Mohammad, Sobarati Ansari and Alisher Ansari was destroyed by fire, informed the Armed Police No. 11.

The head of Armed Police Rautahat, SP Vikram Humagain informed that houses including food, clothes, dishes and cash were burnt due to the fire.

As soon as the incident of fire came to be known, a team was deployed under the command of Armed Police Deputy Inspector Krishnanandan Rai from Armed Police Security Base Dewahi and Police Inspector Kusharam Karki from Ela Police Dewahi Gonahi.

The fire was brought under control in the evening with the help of fire department, security personnel and locals of Gaur Municipality. In Terai/Madhesh, the incidence of fire has started to increase due to the storm.
